CURRENT STATUS OF HARMON SOLAR PROJECT

  • Working with Bannock County on permitting requirements
  • Once approved, construction will commence summer 2027 and operations will begin end of 2028. The project will interconnect to the Populus 345kV substation directly west of Downey, Idaho.
  • Conducting environmental and other studies to meet permit requirements, inform project design and help address community concerns.

2025

2024

During 2024: The Harmon Solar Project continued pre-permitting activities, project outreach and participated in the solar ordinance public process. The BOCC approved a ban on solar to allow more time to research and study the issue.

2023

During 2023: The Harmon Solar Project team began the local pre-permitting for the project. This included: early outreach to project neighbors; holding a community meeting; engaging with local stakeholders such as Idaho Fish and Game, School Board and the Fire Department; conducting additional studies and analysis to better understand potential impacts including property values and viewshed; and establishing a project website to provide information and updates on the Harmon Solar Project.

2022

During 2022: The Harmon Solar Project team performed environmental and geotechnical studies to ensure the area is suitable for a solar project. No major concerns were identified.

2021

During 2021: The Harmon Solar Project team signed agreements for the Project site and began meeting with County Planning and Development staff. These discussions are ongoing and will continue through construction and operations.
